Courses Offered at Balaji Law College Pune

B.A.LL.B. (5 Year Programme)

The 5-year B.A.LL.B is a full-time, Integrated Law Course, accredited by The Bar Council of India. The BA LLB syllabus includes legal and non-legal subjects. The first 4 semesters are dominated by an interdisciplinary study of Arts stream with legal subjects and the rest 6 semesters consist of law subjects. This course is structured with a balanced combination of classroom learning as well as mock court drills, research work, case studies, law internships, etc.

Admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree programme is purely on the basis of merit as assessed through a MAH-L.L.B.5Yrs.(Five-Year Integrated Course)-CET conducted for the purpose.

Eligibility

Academic qualification – Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with 45% marks. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in case of SC/ST students within the state of Maharashtra. Non-Zero Score in MAH-LLB-5 CET will not be eligible for the admission.
Applicants who have obtained 10+2 higher secondary pass certificate or first-degree certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method are eligible for admission in the integrated five-year course.
Applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation / post- graduation through open universities system, directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are NOT ELIGIBLE for admission in law course.

B. (3 Year Programme)

The 3-year LLB (Hons) is a full-time postgraduate professional degree programme. The programme is structured around the interdisciplinary study of law combined with practical learning.

Admission to the LL.B. (Hons.) degree programme is purely on the basis of merit as assessed through a MAH-L.L.B.3Yrs.(Three-Year Integrated Course)-CET conducted for the purpose.

Eligibility

Academic qualification – A student passing a Bachelor’s degree examination with Minimum 45% Marks in any faculty of this University or any other Recognized University shall be eligible for admission to the First year LL.B. Course (three-year degree course). There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in case of SC/ST students. Non-Zero Score in MAH-LLB-3 CET will not be eligible for the admission.

Placement & Internship

Eligibility

Placement Cell helps students in exploring Placement opportunities and provides Internship to the students which is an essential requirement as per the norms of Bar Council of India (BCI) Rules. The objective of Internship is to develop the understanding of legal culture and learn the applicability of the various provisions of law in practical life. The Placement Cell takes up the onus of grooming the students to enable them to take up career in the legal field. As all Cells in Balaji Law College are students driven, so is the Placement Cell.

Activities

The Placement Cell has a representative from each class of 5 year course of B.A.LL.B and 3 year course of LL.B. Under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Surabhi Jain (Placement Cell In-charge) the Placement Cell had taken up following activities:

Training Session-The cell arranges training sessions for interview, group discussion and written examination
Lecture Series for competitive exams-The cell provides Lecture series on important subjects for competitive examinations.
Seminar on Recruitment -The cell had organized Seminar on “Preparation for Interview and Making of CV”.
Guest Lectures-The cell is involved in organizing guest lectures by representatives of law firms, companies and advocates
Alumni Meet – The cell organizes Alumni Meet for providing forum of interaction between alumni’s and students.

Library at Balaji Law College Pune

The library is hosting more than 17,000 books and more than 1500 bound volumes. Library subscribes 9 newspapers, 10 National and 3 international journals. It has a collection of Encyclopedia, Bare Acts, Dictionaries, Autobiography and Commentaries in the field of law. The library has subscribed to various databases such as Manupatra, EBSCO, EBC Reader etc. The library has an open access system to facilitate readers to have easy access to the library resources. It has spacious reading room facility with sitting capacity of 82. Library implemented CCTV surveillance facility for security purpose. Library automation started since 2020. College provides Wi-Fi facility for students and staff to use e- resources within campus and Computer Lab for students to access e- resources on the Internet.
