BMS College of Law was established in the year 1963 by Sri. B.S. Narayan, Donor Trustee, BMSET, under the ageis of B.M. Sreenivasaiah Educational Trust. The Trust is named after Dharmaprakasha Rajakaryaprasaktha Sri. B.M. Sreenivasaiah, whose vision laid the foundation for the first private Engineering College in the State of Karnataka. The College is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi (KSLU) and is approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The college offers B.A. LL.B., B.Com. LL.B., BBA. LL.B.,(5- Year Degree Course) and L.L.B., (3- Year Degree Course).

Courses Offered

Legum Baccalaureus or Bachelor in Laws is an undergraduate 3 or 5-year professional degree course that allows a person to practice law. The degree is offered for 3 years for graduates and 5-year for students who wish to pursue law after the senior secondary examination.

Bar Council of India (BCI) is the regulatory body of Legal Education in India. Both, holders of 3 and 5-year degree are eligible for enrolment with the Bar Council of India upon fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
