Established in June 1977, Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune is a constituent of Symbiosis International University (SIU). The Law school is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The Placement Cell organized Mock Interviews for the Students on 13 th and 18 th April 2023. Total 28 students participated in this. B.A.LL.B. (5 Year Programme)

The 3-year LLB (Hons) is a postgraduate professional degree programme that is open to graduates from all disciplines. It is a qualifying degree for admission to legal practice. It is an integrated law course, which includes the study of both law subjects and arts subjects like political science, economics, history, etc. BA LLB course duration is 5 years. After completing 12th from a recognized board, students can apply for BA LLB admission through law entrance exams such as CLAT, LSAT India, AILET, etc. or direct admissions.

Eligibility: H.S.C. or equivalent in any stream from recognised board with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC / ST / NT / DTNT / OBC categories belonging to State of Maharashtra).

LL.B. (3 Year Programme)

A three-year LLB is an undergraduate law curriculum that is only concerned with legal topics. Even though students can only enrol in this course after graduating it is not a postgraduate degree. 5-year LLB curriculum is an integrated course with a dual degree. Along with the core requirements for the LLB degree, this course also covers subjects from other graduate programmes including BA, B.Com, BBA, B.Sc, etc.

Eligibility: Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC / ST / NT / DTNT / OBC categories belonging to State of Maharashtra).

Moot court Cell

Moot court covers the appeals process rather than a trial, so there is no jury, witnesses or evidence. Instead, students are given a hypothetical case and will take on the role of either the appellant or respondent. The appellants will speak first, arguing the decision in the original trial was wrong. The respondents will then present their case defending the initial ruling. The Moot Court Board is composed of second-year and third-year law students chosen on the basis of their performance in intramural moot court competition. A state-of art Moot Court hall serves as an experiential learning place. The moot court room is built separately to conduct the internal moots as well as for hosting the moot court competition. The Feel of classic court room is simulated through this Moot Court hall.

Admission procedure for DES Law College

The candidates are required to fill an application form, mentioning their educational qualifications. The admission is based on the merit and interview results. For admission to the 5 Year Law Course the candidates must have secured. At least 45% marks in their 10+2 exams or its equivalent exams. The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2023 for admission to the 05 year BA/BBA.LLB Degree programme at Symbiosis Nagpur will be conducted through ‘CBT Mode’
It will be an Online Admission test for 60 marks. Structure of SLAT includes 60 questions for 1 mark each covering Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and General Knowledge. Total duration of test SLAT is 60 minutes.
After declaration of result, SLS Nagpur will publish the list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for WAT (Written Ability Test) & Online PI (Personnel Interaction).

A Moot Court is like practicing for the real court, where students are made to participate in the staged court proceedings that are related to a fictitious dispute between parties. Mostly, moot courts are conducted in law teaching institutions where the students are expected to pursue their careers in the field of law as lawyers, arbitrators and judges; hence they’re made to practice to be trained for future along with development of the required skills.
